Practice operations

Patient no-show

A scheduled visit where the patient does not attend without a timely cancellation, creating idle clinician time and revenue risk.

Definition

No-shows are an operations and revenue problem. Practices reduce them with reminders, clear policies, waitlists, and easy reschedule paths — not with a second calendar tool that disagrees with the clinic schedule.

Measuring no-show rate is useful; attaching prevention to the same appointment system is better.
